Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)SMS Opt-In SBI Pro

Overview

SBI Growth (“we,” “us”) provides SMS-based two-factor authentication (2FA) for SBI Pro accounts to help protect against unauthorized access. If you opt in, we will send SMS/text messages only for account security, including 2FA one-time passcodes (OTPs) when verification is required.

How you provide consent (opt-in)

Consent to receive 2FA SMS/text messages is collected in-product when you log in, via a modal prompt that asks for explicit SMS/text consent. The consent prompt is presented separately from other agreements, and requires an affirmative action (checking an unchecked checkbox) before SMS 2FA is enabled.

“I consent to receive SMS/text messages from SBI Pro (SBI Growth) for two-factor authentication (2FA) and one-time password (OTP) security codes. Message frequency varies based on login activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for assistance.”

Alternative consent method: advisor-assisted onboarding (verbal consent)

In some cases, consent may be collected verbally during onboarding with an SBI advisor. The advisor confirms the mobile number to be used for account security and reads the following consent statement:


Advisor: “To help protect your account, we can send you SMS text messages with two-factor authentication (2FA) security codes when verification is needed. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Do you consent to receive these SMS text messages from SBI Pro (SBI Growth) at ###-###-####?”


The customer must explicitly confirm (e.g., “Yes”) to provide consent.


This consent applies only to account security/2FA messaging. We do not use this opt-in to send marketing or promotional texts.

 

Where messages are sent

Verification codes are sent to the mobile number associated with your account. During opt-in you can review the destination number and change it if needed.

 

When we send messages

We send a 2FA OTP by SMS/text only when your account requires verification (for example, during login or other sensitive account actions).


Message frequency varies depending on account activity and security needs.

How to opt out

You can opt out of 2FA SMS/text messages at any time by replying:

After opting out, you may not be able to receive SMS 2FA codes, which can affect your ability to complete certain login or verification steps.
